One minute test for concussion

    Why not create a simple one minute test to determine quickly whether or not an athlete has suffered a concussion?
    The test will evaluate the athlete's ability to read numbers which are displayed on a series of flashcards. The time it will take for the athlete to respond will be compared to a baseline test. Any coach or doctor will be able to diagnose a concussion confidently if the athlete's response is more than 5 seconds slower. The test will also check for eye movement, attention, language, and other signs of impaired brain function.
