Appliance Repair Service

  Appliance Repair Service business.

  Business Overview

Stoves, washers, dryers, and dishwashers  -  repairing home appliances is a service that has been, and will always be, in high demand. There are many instruction courses available that can train you to become an appliance repair technician, and some instruction courses take as little as one year to complete. That's very strong argument for starting an appliance repair service, especially given the fact tha appliance repair rates are now in the range of $50 to $80 per hour. A friend of mine in the appliance repair business generates a yearly income of more than $100,000. This is not bad, considering he only has two regular customers, works from home, and has no employees. How does he earn so much money with only two customers, you may ask? Easy. Prior to starting the business ten years ago his research in the industry revealed that most large property management companies did not have a full-time appliance repair technician on staff, even though these same companies would routinely contract for appliance repair services 100 times per year or more. The next step was easy, he simply designed a professional marketing presentation that explained his service and started to solicit all of the large residential property management companies in the are for work. To secure exclusive service contracts for appliance repairs, he provided these firms with a 10 percent discount on labor and would uses refurbished parts whenever possible. Of the five residential property management companies hi initially approached, two said yes, and after ten years remain his only customers.
