Intelligent bed to prevent bedsores

    Why not create an 'intelligent bed' able to help prevent bedsores on bedridden patients by imitating the movements of a healthy person during sleep?
    The bed will keep track of the patient's movements as they sleep, monitoring whether they stay in one position too long. When the bed determines that the patient should change position, a special mattress made of 'smart materials' on a joint-less, flexible slatted frame will be able to gently move them, without the delay often caused by lack of staff on hand.
