Creating better sound with the help of light

    A new laser technique will be able to make speaker sound 'visible', making it easier to track and eliminate audio dead spots.
    The new laser light method will involve placing a laser to the side of the test speaker and scanning its beam through various points in front of the speaker. The beams will be reflected to a vibrometer receiver, which will then build images of the sound waves and locate the dead spots.
