System to help prevent bedsores

    Designed to aid caregivers and hospital staff, the system will help prevent bedsores by providing real-time data on the patient's pressure points.
    The system will be made up of a bedside monitor that will communicate with a pressure-sensitive mat placed over the regular mattress. Sensing points embedded in the mat will constantly measure the amount of pressure from the patient's body, and will then send that information to the monitor--which will display it as a map indicating the high- and low-pressure areas. This detailed information will help caregivers pay particular attention to problem areas when repositioning the patient.
