Very dry skin

I've got really dry skin, I got on the dermatologist site & they recommend lactic acid & Urea combined as a lotion! Of course u need a prescription! The pharmacist had showed me that there are other products that carry these same ingredients...one of which is Serasal nail! But it's an antifungal cream! So my question is...has anyone ever used this or something like it on their face? And did it help?
