LED lighting sheets

Contemporary light bulbs may soon be replaced with flexible sheets of glowing LEDS.
The LED sheets will be produced by slicing a gallium nitride wafer to create millions of tiny LEDs. The LEDs will be mixed with binders and resins to form a sort of 'ink', which will be then deposited over a large surface using a standard screen printer. A layer of silver ink will provide electrical contact and a layer of phosphors will be used to change the color of the LED light.
The LED sheets are not yet as efficient as fluorescent lights, emitting 20 lumens per watt. However, they are more efficient than incandescent bulbs, which typically emit only 14 lumens per watt.
