  Pet Name Books business.

  Business Overview

Writing a pet name book is almost guaranteed not to make you rich, but it is guaranteed to be a whole lot of fun. There are many different approaches that can be taken with a pet name book. The book could focus on one particular type of pet, such as cats or dogs, or feature historical pet names or celebrity pet names and how they came to be. Other items to consider are whether you will self-publish the book or have a commercial publisher take on the project. Self-publishing will add additional start-up costs to have the book printed and distributed, however the profit potential is also greater. If you choose to go the commercial publishing route the current commission or royalty rate is typically 4 to 8 percent of the total gross volume of sales.
