The idea is to introduce new polymer-based currency which is supposed to foil counterfeiters. The new bills will make it easier to recognize fakes, and they will last 2.5 times longer.
They will feature a metallic portrait, transparent text, raised ink, a frosted maple leaf window, and hidden numbers. It will be possible to check the hidden numbers by holding the note up to a light, with no need for UV lighting.
