The idea is to develop a water reclamation system that will recycle bathroom sink water to use for flushing the toilet, which could save up to 6000 gallons of water each year. The system will consist of a box under the sink that can hold up to 5.5 gallons of used sink water and a pump which will transfer the grey water to the toilet's water supply. Such a system is supposed to save up to 65% of potable water per flush.

Why not design a microwave that can fit in a space the size of a drawer? The drawer sized microwave will use an aluminum blade to replace the microwave's rotating dish, and the hollow, stainless steel door will hold the electronics. A magnetic switch will turn the microwave off instantly and prevent accidental opening. The microwave will be controlled by a capacitive touch screen on borosilicate glass.

The idea is to have furniture that can be changed to suit a variety of needs while taking up the smallest amount of space possible. Such furniture will consist of a soft, flexible fabric, a central hinge, and an industrial zipper. It could be altered as the need arises, from a single bed to a cozy nook, and the side panels could even be raised to create a private space or dressing room.

The idea is to create a new LED bulb able to be controlled by any Android device. It will set the precedent for a new generation of energy efficient home systems. The bulb will include a built in radio to interface with Google's open source wireless protocol. Besides the bulbs, the protocol will also be used to control thermostats and appliances, leading to a new type of self-adjusting systems.

My idea is to create lamps that will alter their lighting intensity to match the natural light cycles the day and night. The individual lamps will be set to follow the rhythms of either the sun or the moon. The Night Lamp will emit a gentle bluish light that will be synced to the lunar calendar, shining brightest during the full moon. The Day Lamp will gradually increase its light as it gets darker outside, and will lower its light as the sun shines more brightly. Both lamps...

My idea is to use piezoelectricity to generate energy. Piezoelectricity is the charge that accumulates in response to applied mechanical strain, such as the vibrations of vehicles driving on roads. The piezoelectric sensors are inexpensive and can be installed during regular repaving. When utilized on a single lane, two mile stretch of road, the sensors could produce up to 44 megawatts of electricity each year, which is enough to power 30,800 homes for a year.
