A transmitter attached to your car can be programed to control your house if your within proximity. Example: I programed mine to turn on some lights, the air conditioner and sprinklers.

Why not build a house that uses ground and snow as isolation? The house could have 3 sloped sides going to ground level and there if it is helpful could be roof covered air pockets between underground wall and ground. One side would be mostly glass. During winter the snow would help insulate most of the building (as there are no walls except the glass wall letting light and warmth in). Rainwater could be collected and used (by dehydration) in summer to cool the building. Air would need...

We are fond of flies, cockroaches and other insects which keep distrubing in life. I have an idea for it - we have seen electric flies control all around which is connected to electricity when connected it will burn of. The idea is to have laser sensors at the entrance of the house or restraurant which are not harmful to humans. So by putting it in the entrance when the laser hits the insects, it dies. So easy measure to control pests and insects.

I used to make furninture I had a modern spray set-up where the fluid was forced out of the carbided nozzle by physical pressure not by air (Lincoln makes this). The spray salesman at the time and me figured that it would be possible to make a slurry of cement and spray that also. Now you construct a large rubber bladder, like the bladder of a football, but this one ten feet around and in a bullet shape about ten foot tall. Then you blow up the bladder and you spray on some cement...

Have you ever dealed with hanging picture frames on the walls? I bet you have. You need to do your measurments, make sure it is straight and then screw a hole in the wall to hang the frame. How about creating picture frames with magnets at the back that can be attached to the wall without any hassle? When you want to take them off the wall, you will have no scars on the wall. But we need a specific wall paper that has fine lines of iron in it. I think it is a great idea for builders which...

There's this big fat wall sitting in front of my kitchen window (it's probably the same wall you have in front of your toilet window, or someone else can see from his sleeping room window). "My" wall is only a couple of feet away from the kitchen window, but it's far enough so I can't touch it when I lean out of the window (and I wouldn't want to try it as Im living on the fourth floor). Still the wall really looks like I should make some cool use of it. If the wall was made of steel,...

Design a windmill that adjusts to the amount of wind that is blowing. If there is not much wind then not much electricty is going to be produced, but it is still running. Most windmills need 6PMH to start and then max out. As the wind gets stronger the tension should get stronger to produce more power. If the wind is low the tension should release so that a small amount of power is being produced. The actual design of the windmill should not be like a normal one, it should be designed to...

The Wild Crier would be used to protect your home from a wild fire. Instead of a sprinkler system inside the house, this one would be set up on the exterior of the building. Sprinkler heads would be placed in various positions outside the house. There would be heat sensors on the perimeter of the property that would prompt the sprinklers to douse the house in water or flame retardant chemicals before the fire reaches the house. Alarms would also notify police, fire, and relatives of the...

How many of you have seen the sprinkler systems watering lawns in the summer? Well, take that same idea and have the sprinklers lightly misting sidewalks and roadways with a brine solution. I know it will not work under a certain temperature but at least I will not have to get out and shovel. You could modify the sprinkler heads to run in series at a low pressure ( which the brine will not freeze) and when a sensor detects a snowfall, the pressure raises allowing the sprinkler heads to...

I have a hot water heating system. The furnace heats the water in the small expansion tank, which goes thru pipes along the baseboards to heat the rooms. This same system also supplies the hot water to showers and sinks. In the cold of winter, average burning about 6 gals of oil per day to take care of these needs, and with ever increasing cost of oil, this gets expensive. My idea is that like one of these small electric immersion things that can put in a cup of water to heat it up. Could...
