Sea water contains about 0.1-2 mg/tonne of gold dissolved in water (average 1 mg/tonne). But considering the amount of seawater available, it is a really huge goldmine! Theoretically fine, but problems were practical (which prevented profitable extraction till now). This can however become possible with the old electrolysis technique, with the only difference that the voltage difference between the electrodes must be maintained slightly less than the minimum potential difference required...

The Deluxe version of the Scrabble(R) brand word game has an annoying misfeature: at the end of the game, you spend ages picking each letter off the board (because each letter is in its own recessed spot on the board, and because the board doesn't fold in two, like the lower-tech original cardboard board). Turning the board over is a disaster because the letters go all over the place. Solution: a plastic cover that fits nicely over the board (and, ideally, would fit in the original box...

As i work in a clothes shop i get constantly annoyed when things get stolen because of the crappy security tags that are used today! The solution? A new design for security tags one that people cant rip off the clothes, or take off with magnets, one that will actually work and stop theft.

How about designing a liquid that once you immerse your hands into forms thin cellular sheath. This will prevent infections, keep your hands sterilised and clean. Once finished with your surgery, washing, gardening, serving food, exminations, and other such common household and medical applications. All you have to do is run your hands under hot water and the liquid gloves dissolve away. Brilliant idea.

Mr. R. Leinwather's suggestion that (sports) betting is similar to stock trading gave me this idea: long-term bets with online betting services (not the same as going out to the books yerself, but oh well) should be able to be bought, sold and traded between patrons. Say you've bet on Celtic to win the cup at 2 1/2 to one, and a month later, the odds have improved to 2 to one following the elimination of several other teams. You should then have the option of selling your stake to...

The ballistic clipboard will be able to stop bullets and protect against knives while still keeping the papers tidy. Designed with the police force in mind, the ballistic clipboard will provide "multi-hit protection" from a range of ammunition types and weigh under 2 pounds. The device is meant as an additional precaution, and will provide protection against assaults during traffic stops.

The idea is to develop a thin film that can be rolled out to detect trace explosives underground, which could help in the location of the millions of active land mines buried around the world. The fluorescent nanofiberous film will be embedded with chemicals that can detect tiny amounts of explosive vapors as they are released from unexploded underground mines. The film will be lightweight enough to be rolled out to cover an area of suspect land without detonating the mines, where...

Recently I have been looking for a twin window mounted fan with kind of a shutter. And you will be surprised I haven't found anything. There are lot of twin fans at the market, but no one has a shutter. I think it is a quite convenient and reasonable to protect your kitchen from dust and insects when the fan is off. So start your own production and I will be your first client. I promise.

My sister had breast cancer about 6 years ago and she had issues with using the seat belt, since she had radiation and chemo treatments. Sadly, like most radiation treatments, you have raw and very painful wounds. Sometimes she didn't wear her seat belt and other times she put the strap behind her back, which is terribly unsafe and can also get her a ticket. Anyhow, I was thinking there should be a attachment or some sort of seat belt created for people with chest injuries. It's painful...
