Almost every large American city has vast tracts of unutilized or underutilized land, usually located in proximity to very expensive, highly utilized land. Every city also has large and increasing numbers of homeless folk, and you can't help but notice that these two phenomena go hand in hand. Often, this land contains improvements, consisting mostly of abondoned and deteriorated residential and commercial structures, and is owned by the city, having been abondoned by its previous owners...

Every area has talented people. Skills all going to waste. Dying of loneliness. And lack of opportunity. In my experience, the only people who really benefit from the agencies set-up to help entrepreneurs, are the employees who mostly do very little to actually help alleviate their struggles. So why not introduce a true enterprise zone to help bring enterprising people together. Government funded, industrial type building - you're allowed all kinds of styles in business parks! It...

Problem #1: During the summer months here in Minnesota, it seems that there is geese everywhere and goose poo everywhere (expecialy in suburban areas). Some schools have already started this idea.... but it should be required by many more. Jr High and High School age kids should be required to do a certain number of community service hours per semester to pass. Donating their time to a cause (of their choice) would create more caring and aware citizens.

- 30 hour work week is standard. Jobs would offer both a 5AM to 11AM shift or a 1PM to 7PM shift. (Restaurants, bars would have different shifts.) - Traffic on roads reduced as there are half the commuters on road at same time (except at lunch time). - Families wouldn't need daycare. One worker in morning shift, other in evening. - Go-getters, renaissance people can manage having two full-time jobs in completely different fields. - Stores are open when you're not working. - Greater...

Introduce bench meters to public parks. These secure coin operated devices would work like parking meters. The new income stream generated would pay for the maintenance and cleaning of existing benches and the purchase of additional benches. Off-peak times (i.e. dusk to dawn) would ensure that homeless individuals electing to sleep on these benches at night could do so without the risk of incurring a financial penalty.
