My idea is to capture the wind a train generates as it speeds down the track, using that untapped force to create electricity. Several devices would be placed between the rails of either railway or subway lines. Each device would contain a turbine to gather the otherwise wasted wind energy and harnesses it to produce electricity. The cylindrical devices would be installed on the tracks below ground level on busy rail lines, where they should be able to gather enough wind to...

The idea is to create a device to project a laser image onto the road in order to make drivers more aware of bicyclists. The device is meant to be mounted on the handlebars of a bike, where it will project a bright green bicycle symbol on the road in front of the cyclist. The symbol will be visible by day or night, and will shine steadily as well as flashing off and on.

Why not create an electric drive that can be attached to any manual wheelchair, creating a long distance alternative for wheelchair users. The drive will resemble a pair of headphones, with two circular hubs connected by a curved section. Each hub will contain a 24-volt motor powered by a lithium-ion battery with a range of almost 20 miles. When attached to the center of the wheelchair's wheels, the device will be able to propel the wheelchair at speeds up to 12 mph. Steering...

The idea is to equip cars with the airbag system for pedestrians to reduce the force of an impact on people outside the car. The airbag will be contained beneath the hood just next to the windshield, and will automatically deploy if the sensors in the front bumper detect contact between the car and a person. The system will work in conjunction with the Pedestrian Detection technology, which will detect if a person walks in front of the car and will automatically activate the brakes...

Why not develop parking meters able automatically call the police when you have overstayed your parking limit? The new meters will have sensors in the ground under each parking space, which will keep track as cars move in and out of the space. The sensors will notify the nearest parking inspector when a car has gone 5 minutes past it's paid for parking time.

The first front center airbag will be designed to protect front occupants in the event of a side impact crash. The airbag will deploy form the right side of the driver's seat, absorbing the impact energy between the driver and the passenger in the front. The airbag will also function as a restraint if the driver is the only person in the front of the vehicle. The front center airbag will be designed to work with other airbags to form a more complete vehicle occupant restraint...

Augmented reality glasses designed for commercial airline pilots may help them to focus through bad weather and stay alert to their surroundings. The glasses will display a 3D overlay of the runway and airport in one lens, including updates, markers, and traffic in the area. The integrated head tracker will adjust as the pilot moves his head and changes his gaze, automatically overlaying the appropriate info. Additional voice controls and displayed aircraft info, such as altitude...

Why not create a driving monitor which will provide new teen drivers with verbal comments to help bring attention to driving errors? The monitor is to be wired to the car's onboard computer and equipped with an accelerometer and a GPS. It will alert the driver to aggressive driving, such as sudden turning or braking, and significant speeding. It will also disable mobile phones while the car is in motion. It could be also possible for parents to be notified of their teen's...

I'll be the first one to buy a bike with a frame looking like my name handwritten. This idea is really cool. With such a bike I'll definitely stand out from the crowd. By the way, the risk of bike being stolen will be eliminated.

Why not use vertical space in order to park more bikes, saving space in urban areas while also encouraging more biking? The vertical storage system can be attached to the unused walls of buildings, cranking the bikes up along the wall on a circular track. The concept also includes ideas for smaller, freestanding racks for tighter spaces, such outside a store or cafe.
