This is not an inexpensive business to start and operate. However, there is usually a minimal amount of competition, and the service is always in demand. The main requirements will be the purchase of the portable toilets and a delivery or pump truck. The truck will be the largest expense, as a new one can sell for as much as $150,000. To keep initial start-up costs down, a secondhand truck in good mechanical condition will probably be a better choice, at least initially.
