One problem that haunts me since I'm old enough to buy clothes: buying jeans that fit! Typically I go into a store, buy the "perfect" pair of jeans, and after a couple of days they turn out to be way too big. Last time I even went back to the shop to return my pair for smaller ones, but then I ended up going home with the SAME jeans because they seemed just right, and a week later they were still a full inch too wide. Ok, I admit that buying jeans directly after lunch is a stupid...

Remember the times when people where looking down on everbody who had a tatoo? Well, the same is probably true when someone discovers that the remainders of the salad you had for lunch are still sticking to your front tooth. But this is only a problem for prejudiced people. In the near future, this will be a priviledge: people will be able to choose color and shape of the food particles that are sticking to their teeth. Of course, since the food particles are artificial, they will not...

If you have sisters and brothers, you will, as you get older, sometimes discuss the old times. Pretty often, you'll come across things your parents did that were just awesome (e.g. when you had to go for a vaccination and were brave instead of wailing around and terrorizing everybody else, you would get a matchbox car - what a great idea!) On the other hand, you'll come across a lot of stuff you virtually hated (e.g. you were forced to play a violin - and yuck, you still can't listen to...

Before checkpoints, there's usually a traffic jam. People stop their engines, then after a few minutes, they start them, drive a few feet, and turn them off again. Or they keep the car running all the time. My idea is to build in a slight gradient before checkpoints and other places that are known to cause traffic congestions. People can turn off their engines, and if the traffic moves on a tiny bit, they can simply loosen their handbrakes without starting the motor. Of course it...

Everyone can make a love bite at someone's neck - but how about the forehead? That again may be too difficult for most. I guess it's high time that someone assembles a Love Bite Chart, so we all know where on the body it's easiest to make a love bite, and where it's harder. Teenagers could then engage in contests, instead of uncreatively leaving marks on each other's necks. This could be subject of a fun website or a highly scientific (medical) project.

Recently, we had a lot of snow over here, and after some sledging and snowball-fighting, we all sank back-first into a huge pile of fluffy snow. Sitting there was just incredibly comfortable - the snow compressed and adapted just perfectly to the back and the spine. I could have sat there for hours (except for the cold). This also reminded me of the way they make shoe lifts these days - you just step bare-footed into a box of soft foam, and a week later you have shoes that exactly fit...

There are some electronic devices which I operate entirely with my feet. My PC for example stands on the ground, and I simply don't want to bend down every morning to turn it on. The same is true for the volume control of the subwoofer standing behind it. Electronics companies obviously believe that people only touch their delicate products with their fingers. Well guys, that's just not true! So how about equipping certain devices (PC, stereo, etc.) with a pedal or at least some sort...

This idea has been inspired by the Eminem discussion on on these boards. In my home country there's a juice company called "Yo." Yo man! Why not have them funky rappers make advertising for Yo! They wouldn't even have to change the wording - just have 'em rap along and insert a "Yo" logo. If Eminem is too expensive, I'm sure some cheap native rapper can do the trick.

Recently I've been sitting under a tree with my laptop, and afterwards the screen had dozens of tiny, sticky drops on it that were hard to clean off. My idea is for cheap, disposable laptop foils that are transparent and can be put on the laptop's screen and keyboard as a temporary protection. Of course they shouldn't hinder functionality or visibility of the screen.

We all know how battery testers work: you find a battery in your home or office and have no clue if it's still usable. You attach it to a battery tester and voila - the battery is flat so you can happily dispose of it. But on washing day, what are you to do if you find a couple of stray socks? Sure, you can smell every single one of them, but that isn't only unpleasant, but it can actually damage your health, e.g. if you're allergic to dust. Alternatively, you can throw everything you...
