Wheel with outer rim is a new tire technology minimizing rubber material in order to save the cost of vehicle maintenance cost. With this modern wheel technology the rim size is kept to the smallest diameter possible, leaving the space for break drum and axle accommodation. Then there will be a large space remaining between the required wheel diameter and the modified rim diameter, so that, the small size tire is placed over the rim. The remaining space is occupied by a reinforced...

Why not use magma as a potential source of geothermal energy? It is actually able to power up to 30,000 homes. FYI, magma can produce dry steam at 750 degrees Fahrenheit, which can generate up to 25 megawatts of electricity. The usual geothermal well can produce 5 to 8 megawatts of electricity.

I'm not really sure if it is possible to make my idea come true but here it is... I want to provide skiers and snowboarders with avalanche survival devices to put to their backpacks. In case of an avalanche a sensor built-in the device will trigger the system and a mask will pop out to fit a face. As soon as the avalanche hits a person, a small vacuum pump will suck snow into the canister, melt it, and split the water made from the melted snow into oxygen and hydrogen. The...

The ring will be worn on the index finger, with the left and right click and touch control tracking arranged around the top of the ring and controlled by the thumb. Primarily intended for presentation controls, the new mouse will also be useful...

The idea is to develop an animated sign language translation system that will automatically convert words into gestures for deaf viewers, which could help improve the spread of information during disasters. Subtitles are not always enough for people who use sign language as their main form of communication. The new system will be able to convert the text into sign language delivered by a suit-wearing avatar in a virtual newsroom. The system will also able to use synonyms to replace...

Why not provide our mobile phones with ECG machine capability of clinical-quality readings? Such a cell phone should have a pair of electrodes to send ECG readings via Bluetooth. The device could be held in the hands to take pulse readings, or could be placed on the user's chest. Of course, received ECG wouldn't be as comprehensive as a full electrocardiogram but it could be helpful while arrhythmia or other heart pattern issues monitoring.

Why not create an application which will use camera equipped dashboard mounted mobile devices to let drivers know the best speed to maintain in order to avoid traffic lights? The application will collect traffic signal data as the car moves about and then will feed it back to a central system, which will allow a larger image of the traffic flow to be created. This information could then be used to tell the driver how quickly they are approaching the traffic signal as well as where...

The idea is to develop a thin film that can be rolled out to detect trace explosives underground, which could help in the location of the millions of active land mines buried around the world. The fluorescent nanofiberous film will be embedded with chemicals that can detect tiny amounts of explosive vapors as they are released from unexploded underground mines. The film will be lightweight enough to be rolled out to cover an area of suspect land without detonating the mines, where...
