I wish I had some kind of gel or hair spray that made my hair waterproof. This way I wouldn't need an umbrella or hat in rain or snow. It would be really great to have such a spray for outdoor winter work or recreation like hiking or skiing.

How about a lotion that blocks cold temperatures from hitting our skin? You rub on the lotion and it keeps you warm :). The lotion will be of great help for people living in very cold climates. One could take it while hiking in the mountains or swimming in cold water without a wet suit. It can be also useful in emergency situations like when the power goes out in the winter and you cannot heat your house.

Additionally, the drug is supposed to have a required dose at least 10-50 times lower than other drugs in the market.

Utilizing the body's own defense system may lead to less harmful ways of treating melanoma and other cancers. There is the study that involves a process known as adoptive t-cell therapy, in which immune cells are primed to seek out and kill cancer cells in the body. The results of the study are optimistic- out of nine patients, the cancer in four of them was rendered stable, and in one patient the disease disappeared, and has not returned even two years later. The method is...

Why not create an 'intelligent bed' able to help prevent bedsores on bedridden patients by imitating the movements of a healthy person during sleep? The bed will keep track of the patient's movements as they sleep, monitoring whether they stay in one position too long. When the bed determines that the patient should change position, a special mattress made of 'smart materials' on a joint-less, flexible slatted frame will be able to gently move them, without the delay often caused...

Genetically engineered spider's silk may be the next step toward creating artificial skin for patients requiring skin grafts, such as burn victims. Spider dragline silk is incredibly strong, much stronger than the collagen conventionally used to create artificial skin. By weaving the silk fibers of golden orb web spiders onto a steel frame it is possible to create a mesh scaffold on which human skin cells can thrive.
