I think that the government often spends tax money in their own interest. I have a plan called Destributable taxes which will let the tax payers at least controll how some of their money is spent. Under my idea, the government would get full controll of 3/4ths of your taxes. The government could spend it as they see fit. The last fourth, however, would be distributed to different areas of the government by you. Your tax forms would contain a special form where you could dictate what...

During Daylight Savings Time clocks are turned forward an hour, effectively moving an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening. Unfortunately this steals an hour of daylight just before Halloween, and greatly increases the danger to the millions of little children who are rushing the streets in search of candy, while their fathers are madly rushing home to help pass out the goodies, It would make Halloween much safer for the children and put less stress on the fathers to...

Suggesting that each suburb in a city should be run as a strategic business unit, with the individual tax collection or a large percentage of it going towards meeting local development needs like education system and unemployment within the same suburb, consequently the more the employement the more the spending budget would increase for the suburb, giving a incentive to the corporator running the suburb to ensure higher employment. The corporate tax collection from the suburb with a...

The concept of democracy is a great idea, but recent trends have shown that it is a vulnerable one, too. It seems that all a leader has to do is cut the education and social security budgets and create a large mass of people that are poor and illiterate. Spend all the money you didn't spend for the sake of the people to finance a huge propaganda campaign instead, and once you have brainwashed the gullible 51% with your "new world" views, it doesn't matter at all what the other 49% say. ...

As shown by ancient Greek and Roman writers such as Polybius, and the American Founding Fathers in the Federalist Papers, historically the most stable forms of government have featured a strong executive, provided stability for the elite, and functions to serve the masses. The best way to do this would be to randomly select a "House of Representatives" from a pool of ANYONE who wanted the job, and to sell the seats in the "Elite Senate" to the highest bidders, NO MATTER who they are or...

Why have a house and senate? Suppose legislation was to be brought to the voting public instead of debated and voted on in the house and senate. With the internet being what it is today, why do we need elected representatives to vote on laws on our behalf when we now have a level of technology that can enable us to vote for ourselves? Maybe a certain day of every month could be devised to vote on, like for example the second Thursdays of every month. Legislators could make the bills to be...

In times where the US are trying to spread their home-made type of democracy all over the world, it's time to think about new forms of government. I'll call my invention "Automatocracy" - the idea is that elections should be abolished, instead the results should be created by a random generator. The most important achievement of democracy (as opposed to monarchy or dictatorship) is the regular rotation of government. Automatocracy would definitely have this advantage - plus a couple of...

I have seen students suffer when their year is down (failed), some have even committed sucide. This happens because students start studying when exam comes close by and there is too much accumulation of syllabus. Hence the solution lies in creating 10 standards out of today's every class, i.e. if students passes today's sixth class then it will be termed as 60th in the new system. There will be only one final exam consisting of all subjects thought for that month, i.e. in a year there...

VAT is not a progressive tax. Therefore a millionaire pays the same for a packet of cigarettes, phone bill, etc. as a single mum. Therefore if we were to pay by plastic could have tax code chipped on card - result being you pay according to your income.
