I need a pair of cheap houseboots (actually, a bunch of pairs); and so does my contractor and lots of other people). I'm building a house, and there's dirt all around. Every time I need to come inside for something while I'm working out in the dirt, I have to stop and take my boots off (or else track dirt and sand onto my nice new cork floor). And then put 'em back on again when I go back out. A royal pain, both ways. After I came up with this idea, my wife and I found a pair of...

Since we all spend a fair amount of time at work, why not design industrial parks with facilities for workers? Things that may not be affordable for a single company might be much more cost effective if shared by all the companies in the park. I am thinking of things like a gym, day care center, small park or first class cafeteria. One advantage to company owners would be to provide a place where workers could spend their lunch hour without worrying about taking too much time. Another...

It's hard to focus the smaller wavelengths of light needed to etch smaller details on microchips. Astronomers use two or more lenses separated by a distance to resolve finer detail, with no change in wavelength. How about using this in reverse, etching chips by using "long baseline interferometry" with current wavelengths.

My idea is to create a new billboard powered by an electrochemical reaction using the acid from oranges as the catalyst. The billboard will be lined with a gridwork of copper and zinc spikes that will keep the oranges in place while also reacting with the acid of the oranges to create the electrochemical reaction, essentially creating a huge battery of oranges.

The Scrubba wash bag is a portable washing machine, weighing just over 6 ounces and able to wash several items of clothing at once. The Scrubba is basically a washboard in a bag. To use the Scrubba, the bag is filled with about 3 liters of water and 3 drops of soap per wash, sealed, and the extra air expelled through a tube. The washbag is then placed on a table or the floor and compressed and rubbed for about a minute, which scrubs the clothes with the interior washboard. Clothes...

A new LED lantern will be powered by only water and salt. The lamp will be powered by a saline solution, which the user will mix in the dedicated water bag. The salt water will then act as the electrolyte, surrounding the magnesium and carbon rods that will serve as the negative and positive electrode. The magnesium rod has a lifespan of about 120 hours, but replacements will be available for separate purchase. The lamp can also be used to power USB devices, and will include...

A website where people post their ideas to a public domain thereby taking away all future possibilities to hold a patent and more than likely make them a reality/ A website where those with resources can take great ideas from common folk and profit from them while the poor guy sulks about not seeing a dime/A website that destroys all value on intellectual property by removing all buffs.

Seeing all the muck accumulated in the cuffs and collars after a days travelling, I was thinking of a scrubber option built into a washing machine. Maybe a slot where you insert the cuffs and the collar for a time till the buzzer sounds. This would ensure that the shirts' cuffs and collars are scrubbed clean and I have a crisp clean shirt after wash.

If we are able to make small hydro power generators that we can easily generate power from very small streams in our neighborhood and even from a water tank. Let the water, being pumped into the tank, flow on a fan (fixed inside the tank) which can produce electricity. Thus we can generate almost the same energy spent for pumping water into the tank. That means energy used is generated the next moment.

The basic idea is to harness the energy created from the thrust of a commercial jet engine. You would place another turbine behind the main turbine that is propelling the jet forward, except this turbine will not be pushing it forward, instead it will be harnessing the energy created from the thrust of the main engine. As the main turbine is powered by the engine and is running, it creates a powerful stream of air that will turn the second turbine and still let the air flow through. It may...
