Create desktop wallpaper for computers programmable to any time zone and which has the sun rising on one side and setting on the other. The desktop landcape could be chosen to suit the user - cityscape, beachside and so on - and the shadows made by trees, cars and buildings would create the illusion of being outdoors.

Provide broadband packages where the connection speed is set at, say, 1mbps. Then if a user needs to download a particularly large file they would be able - at a click - to boost their connection to 2mbps for an extra fee per minute.

A simple webapplication that interfaces with iTunes to control the following through a web interface: 1. Control the volume 2. Skip tracks 3. Select an available playlist 3a. Select playlist should be used by "Party Shuffle" I know this may/may not have limited use, but I use iTunes to play music for any parties that I host. The system serving up the music is inside downstairs and the music is playing outside. I'd like to be able to use my Audrey to access this system, which is...

My idea is for a dating site where people could play matchmaker. It would basically be a typical dating site with profiles and searching. The major difference would be that people could take two profles from corresponding categories (ie. Men seeking Women and Women seeking Men) and match them up. If the people being matched liked the match they could give the matchmaker a score based on the match. The later matches would be weighted on the score of the matcher. You could also have an...

I guess we all know that French Camembert goes well with red wine - but what kind of music should you play alongside? While Heavy Metal may be the wrong choice, Vivaldi could work better - but if you're not in the mood for classical music, what are your alternatives? It should be easy to add this feature to the existing music databases on the internet. When you pop your CD into the computer's player, it usually tells you which album you're listening to and what's the latest on the...

There is a lot of software that give out an audible output of what is a computer monitor screen for the blind. There seems to be no reference to a tactile output pad that reproduces text in braille as well as graphics as raised dots. The output 'screen' can be a pad lying on the table with a matrix of equally spaced pins, which are at surface level and rise above the surface on activation The technology exists (rather outmoded) as dot matrix printers. Enhancements can be thought...

This is more of a software game design idea. I have had it for several years now and I know I am not going to get around to doing it so I am throwing it out there because I would love to see it done. You all know how they have golf video games that you can play against people online. What I think would be great is if they made a game where you can actually play against the real pros during a real tournament. Say the tournament starts on Thursday and you get up in the morning and...

Everyone has old tapes. It would be cool to be able to listen to them on the PC. A tape-rom, just like the CD-rom could be made and althought it could be used to easely copy music from the tape to the PC and then to a CD.

In today's world computers use the binary system to interpret data and instructions. These are translated by compilers and programs as sequences of 0's and 1's according to agreed codes, and in this form the computer handles them, meaning 1's a pulse of electricity and 0's a lack of it (in fact a pulse with much lower voltage). With the technology available at the time of major development of computers, I can understand that they just could make a difference between 0's and 1's by then,...

How about a very interactive/fun website that teaches people how to program or make websites? Here's how it would work: - Someone creates an account on the website. The account creation process would figure out where the person should go/start in the midst of all of these interactive tutorials. The same account could be used to add or edit existing tutorials (an approval system would be made). They can do as little as adding on a sentence to someone else's tutorial or create a flash...
