Have you ever opened a product out of a box and it is nothing like the picture looks like? I hate that, someone should start a web site with box pictues and then the actual contents. Frozen food should be a special dedicated area it - never looks like the box!

OK I don't know about everyone else but i have major problems pulling myself away from computer games to do work, I easily rack up 3 hours on a game when i tell myself I'm only going to play for 15 mins or something. So my idea is to have a computer program running that prevents me from opening a game. Sounds simple enough but as it stands anyone with a brain cell can work out how to get around it. There's one key element to this program: When you install it on your PC, you choose 3...

A site that you can submit reviews of people you've dealt with in any way, i.e. like eBay reviews but for off-eBay transactions (say you bought something off someone on a forum) . Have a variety of sections from Teen Dating to Business Dealings, to Friendships (hey, we could have good reviews too!).

It seems that currently internet advertising is moving into a new phase, called content sensitive advertising. Google is the main contender in this field with its adsense and adwords. In another unrelated area of the net, Open Source is growing very fast, and in the 3rd corner is Peer 2 Peer software (or shared computing). What makes adsense work so well is the amount of people that use it, and the google name behind it makes it better. Think what would happen if a lot of small...

My idea is to combine a virus scanner with a 1st person shooter (eg: quake). The program could be run in different modes: 1/ Scan your machine for viruses = serious virus scanner with std anti-virus type gui. 2/ Play the built in game independently of virus scanner = self explanitory. 3/ Scan your machine with game front end = Game starts - virus scanner scans your machine in the background while you play the game. The game would be just like any other 1st person shooter -...

A search engine where the registration will be free for every domain! The difference will be that the given priority will not be up to the amount of money given for the subscription (it will be free for every user) but the average time that someone spends visiting a site. For example if someone's domain has average visiting time for all the users 5 minutes, will have higher priority against someone elses domain that has 2 minutes average. In that way the more interesting sites will be...

Have you ever had the trouble of getting it all together to send someone a note or a thank you card? E-Mail is the answer, but if they are not connected, it takes ages to organise the card, stamp, pen, etc., and then it has to be posted. I propose an organisation that will take care of all this. They would be contacted via e-mail, and they would send the hard copy for you. Any personal messages could be cut and pasted into a card or onto a letter heading. The only problems are with...

If you get lots of business mail, you will notice that people make up all kinds of 3 letter abbreviations ("describing" their position) just to impress you. Long forgotten are the times when you just got mail from BMW's CEO or directly from the FBI. Today's decision makers are CPCs, DEOs, SPMs, or better! (Wow...) So I would love to have a SEA (Stupid Email Abbreviations) Randomizer. If you think about it, with three letters at your disposal, there are up to 26^3 leading positions in...

This idea would require a simple computer program that displayed a screen asking 3 questions - 1. What equation/formula are you interested in? 2. What constant do you want replaced? 3. How many degrees of separation do you want? After you answer the questions the program would search a database that had been pre-loaded with as many standard equations / formulae as possible (engineering books are full of them) looking for ones that said the chosen constant equaled something...
