My idea is to create a mobile device which can be used by deaf and hearing-impaired people. I suggest creating a tool which would be integrated to any high-end mobile phone with a video camera. The tool would be based on motion detection technology, i.e. it would be possible to identify American Sign Language (ASL) and transmit video images over cell networks in the US.

I want to have a smart fence which can sense the difference between the rustling of leaves or a person skulking around the area. There will be a small low power device to be attached to a fence or other object or just be placed on the ground. It will use seismic sensors to distinguish between different types of movements. An alert will be sent wirelessly to the command center under certain conditions.

Why not create a desktop generator that uses electricity to create hydrogen from water? This generator will be used for special cartridges charging. Each cartridge is supposed to contain 12 watt-hours of stored energy, the equivalent of ten AA batteries.

Why not create a new material for bone implants to resemble more accurately the geometry and stiffness of bone? The material is to be designed using a technique known as topology optimization, which forms a three-dimensional scaffold. Metal powder is melted into the desired shape with a laser, creating an open pore structure that can allow the transporting of nutrients through the implant.

The best defense against common communicable diseases is prevention. Door knobs and handles are covered with a huge amount of microbes so why not create self-steralizaing door handles? I suggest creating a door handle that continuously sterilizes itself with a UV light, only taking a break when you actually use it. There will be some kind of switch in the handle's frame to toggle the sanitizing illumination on and off.

The idea is to develop a device able to monitor environmental air in real time, detecting the presence of bacteria much faster than conventional methods. The system will use optical technology to detect the size and fluorescence of airborne particulates, determining whether the particle is inert or biological through the presence of intrinsic fluorescence. The analysis of single particles will provide a greater sensitivity of detection, and the device will able to monitor the...

Manufacturers of book bags are constantly developing new convenient models, improving the design and functionality of the most important school attribute. The Concentrate Company invented a new and unique ergonomic school bag with a seat, which is hung on a chair not a desk. The main feature of Chairpadbag is that its ergonomic design allows you to make a chair more comfortable, and work in the classroom effectively. While unfold, a backpack turns into a seat on a chair and storage...

Most endoscopes are costly and need to be sanitized after every use. My idea is to create a new endoscope which will consist of a complete video camera of only one cubic millimeter in size. The small size as well as cost effective technique could be achieved by adding contacts to one side of the camera's sensor wafer and then joining it face to face with the lens wafer. This will allow the tiny cameras to be cut out of the joined wafers, and also to be more self-contained. BTW,...

Why not create an application which will use camera equipped dashboard mounted mobile devices to let drivers know the best speed to maintain in order to avoid traffic lights? The application will collect traffic signal data as the car moves about and then will feed it back to a central system, which will allow a larger image of the traffic flow to be created. This information could then be used to tell the driver how quickly they are approaching the traffic signal as well as where...

People often use a flashlight to make some notes at night in a place where there is no electricity (for ex., during a hike, fishing or in some other place). They just fit it in some way and make records. This seems to be very inconvenient. A small light bulb, 3 feet of bell wire, a flashlight battery and a pen, connected to the circuit shown in the attached figure, allow you to make notes in the pitch darkness. One more advantage of this solution is that one can write with such a tool...
