I am not a scientist or even an inventor but I was thinking, wouldn't it be great if we could harness the wind that a vehicle creates to power it? A completely renewable power source for motorized travel that doesn't cost a penny and would never run out. Of course the vehicle would need some kind of power source to start moving but if I am correct the power source could be recharged by the wind after the vehicle picked up speed. I believe the technology would be something similar to...

Converting present gasoline engines to work on steam, using a combination of either electrical or propane to make the steam. Engines presently are 4 cycle. To convert to steam would require replacing the 4 cycle camshaft to 2 cycle. Then removing the carburator and intake and exhaust manafolds, and using them to connect the steam to the intake manafold and the radiator to the exaust manafold, where the steam would be cooled to convert to water. The water, being cooled to just below...

I think it would be pretty convenient to have the same technology that is now in 'tap' credit cards, implemented into gas nozzles and tanks in your car. The nozzle on the pump would have a sensor to gather billing info, that would be recieved from another chip mounted just inside your car where you place the pump. When your finished some info should be collected by your car: Price paid for gas, how many gallons, date etc. Your car could then compare that info to your...

My idea is to invent a inflatable suit like an air bag for motorcycle riders. Have the rider tethered to the motorcycle, so if the rider starts to fall off it will inflate and the rider will have a greater chance of not breaking as many bones.

Each time I make a purchase and get a receipt, I either stuff it in my pocket, throw it away, or put it in my car as I leave the store. What if there was something built into the middle counsel or dash of your car, where you can insert the receipt, it is scanned, and is stacked nicely for you to retrieve later. The receipt's info is then inputed to a spreadsheet file or the image is electrically stored. Then you could download the already formatted spreadsheet file to your computer with a...

When you brake your vehicle there's an awful lot of energy lost. All that forward motion is just stopped and dissipated. Now suppose that the act of stopping was not an act of stopping but really an effort of your motion to compress air. Then - to regain the lost energy the compressed air is released, returning the vehicle to it's original forward movement or at least assisting that action

An idea to reduce/eliminate headlight glare is to use a polaroid on the headlight cover and another polaroid with its axis perpendicular to the one on the headlight cover. This would reduce/eliminate the glare from headlights on the driver for oncoming vehicles. Not sure if this is an economical/viable solution.

In the UK when approaching a bend in the road a chevron sign warns you of the danger ahead. The problem is if you are not familiar with that road the bend could range from almost 180 degrees to just a mild curve. If the chevrons were replaced with a true image of the bend and possibly the angle it would prevent many accidents. The extra cost would be negligible.
