Have you ever poured sugar on your cereal or opened a can of pop or had a kid's Lollipop or candy stick to you or the furniture or carpet? Then you've probably been very mad about cleaning yourself off or called someone to take the mess out of carpets and everything else that gets all sticky. Mostly the problem is it sticking to you. It makes a mess and is hard to deal with if your not near a place where you can get it off you or your car seat or what ever it sticks need my help.
Why not alter sugar and make it either not sticky at all or make it more sticky and use it as glue?
