Since 99% of the spam messages we receive nowadays come from other countries, there are no possiblities of suing or doing something to take the spammers to the law. Spam is now over the 60% of the email traffic in the world, it makes us waste HOURS of our lifes deleting stupid messages, and slows down the Internet speed worlwide. There should be an internantional organism, maybe United Nations dependant, where you could forward a spam message you receive and get involved legally...

Have the government give taxpayers access to an internet tax return form with all the sources of income that it knows about already entered into it. It already knows all or most of your sources of income because it receives copies of your tax forms. You would only need to fill in any extra things that the government doesn't know about, if any, and then click submit and your taxes would be filed. That would take just minutes. The computer would calculate how much refund you get....

PoliStats works in much the same way as football game statistics. Whenever you're watching a football game they are able to pull up amazing statistics about each player, each team, how many times a team has lost in their home arena during a given month. The stats are amazing. Why not have statistics and facts pulled up during political debates--how a candidate actually voted previous to the bologna that he's currently spouting, what their charitable donations are, what organizations or...

This idea is directed at the USA but might have application elsewhere. I am proposing an idea to our government to promote the creation of a nationwide, privately run, rail shipping system that could significantly affect the energy cost and number of interstate trucks. The idea is a cross between the Interstate highways and Federal Express. The infrastructure would be developed and paid for by both the federal and local governments just as the Highways were. Initially it would only...

Our founding fathers were exceptionally wise to ensure a separation of church and state. Now that enormous power lies in the business and financial world, we now see the results of too close relationships between large corporations and our own US government. The American people should demand Separation of Business and State.

I propose eliminating the U.S. House of Representatives, and replacing it with an online "Concordance of Delegates", as a means of minimizing corruption and making our legislature more representative. The following would apply to the "COD": 1) The delegates would communicate with one another and vote online from their homes, rather than meeting in a single location. 2) One delegate would be elected for every 5,000 voters. The current congressional districts would be...

Why not use ATMs as voting machines? The 2000 presidential election turned into a national fiasco due mainly to the archaic manner in which we count votes. There is a solution using modern day technology so that this might never happen again. Through-out the US, Canada, and in much of the civilized world, there is already in-place a secure infrastructure for collecting votes. There are computer terminals in gas stations, banks, super markets etc. called ATMs (Automatic Teller...

I am very tired of the political system in the UK. We get sick of the Conservatives, so we vote for Labour. We get sick of Labour, so we get the er-um Conservatives again. And millions of people SCREAM silently into their cups of tea. Nothing ever changes. Especially not the parties, who reap the rewards for just sitting, whilst making (invariably) terribly lousy decisions that affect everybodies lives, often drastically. Isn't it time we had a fairer system? More parties to choose from,...

What if the Government offered a tax credit to move closer to your job? This would reduce commuter traffic and air pollution. There would need to be a cap on the credits and some way to verify the move and change in distance.

The University system here in the United States follows traditions that should perhaps be updated as we move into a globally competitive marketplace in the 21st century. Colleges have experimented with Internet classes and distance learning courses that are aired over television channels. I propose that colleges establish a set of professional quality video taped lecture presentations for standard courses. The video tapes could be kept in a special section of the university...
