The handheld printer will use a combination of inkjets, optics, and software to print images onto any flat surface. The printer will use laser sensors to track the device's movement, measuring its location and speed. The software will interpret the sensors' data and use algorithms to determine which spurt of ink to send next as the user waves the printer over the material. This will allow the printer to print on any size material, even material larger than the printer itself.

Why not provide our mobile phones with ECG machine capability of clinical-quality readings? Such a cell phone should have a pair of electrodes to send ECG readings via Bluetooth. The device could be held in the hands to take pulse readings, or could be placed on the user's chest. Of course, received ECG wouldn't be as comprehensive as a full electrocardiogram but it could be helpful while arrhythmia or other heart pattern issues monitoring.

I often can't remember where I have left the TV remote control and look for it all over the room. So I suggest creating some device which is placed on the TV and makes the remote control beep when I need to find it. The functionality seems to be similar to the one which wireless phones have.

I'm sick and tired of the fact that I spend so much time looking for a parking place. My idea is to create a system that will help people to find places for their cars to park. The system will consist of wireless detecting devices placed on the territory of a car park that will check parking places availability and send the information to a single control centre. Then this information will be displayed on information panels or sent to some kind of navigation gadget (similar to a...

It would be great to have a TV set that would allow two people in same room to watch different TV programs. My idea is to create a two-sided TV screen for this. It would have separate remotes and possibly speakers inside remote or simple headphone speakers. With such a TV set couples won't need to have extra TV in another room.

Online shopping is based on trust. A buyer should believe that a real picture of a commodity is displayed in the Internet, all disadvantages are enumerated and the price isn't overstated. This idea with people to help you to make sure that everything is OK with the stuff you are going to purchase is really awesome. Just imagine: you are going to buy a car / boat / real estate but you are lazy to go to the other end of the country and examine the possible purchase; then you find a...

This robot is equipped with assigned weapon (e.g. M16 M4 rifle, 50 Cal, Body armor, GPS, etc...). Here's how:...

Why not create a new material for bone implants to resemble more accurately the geometry and stiffness of bone? The material is to be designed using a technique known as topology optimization, which forms a three-dimensional scaffold. Metal powder is melted into the desired shape with a laser, creating an open pore structure that can allow the transporting of nutrients through the implant.
