Why not take into account bone conduction phenomenon and create a telephone for hearing impaired people? The handset in such a case will have a pulsator which, when placed on specific areas of the head, will send vibrations directly to the speech center of the brain. The phone will also include a light to indicate an incoming call and different volume controls.

With many chain stores now having "rewards" membership cards, it is becoming a hassle to search through your wallet to find the right one, especially if you are at the checkout with a line of people behind you. My idea, that as far as I know does not exists, is a "smartphone" app that would contain all of your rewards/wholesale club membership cards. This app would already link your information with all the stores that you are a member of and frequent, eliminating the need for a plastic...

One of the main obstacles during typing on flat keyboard is deficiency of tactile feedback. So my idea is that each key vibrates with different amplitude or frequency when it pressed and when not. Space between keys not vibrating at all. G and H keys on qwerty vibrate differently from other keys (or just have usual marks). It will allow to create slim keyboards without moving parts and with tactile feedback. Also, this idea can be used in desktop keyboards with different rows of keys...

One of the biggest drawbacks of headphones is that they block oxygen supply to the ears. Hence when you use them more than a few hours a day you start getting ear related problems. So my idea is a head phone that won't give you any problems, even if you use them for 8 hours+ or more ( you know people in the service industry call centers etc , basically those people who are not audiophiles.) These head phone will have two modes, simple (no amplification) and powered mode (sound...

I would like my cell phone to have its display be adjustable. That way, when I want to read an SMS, I don't have to put my glasses to see the message. This idea could be applicable for any LCD device.

On my cell phone, I'd like a sensor which recognize my voice and automatically picks up the call if i say any particular word Like "hello" or "hey." Especially when I am driving or busy in kitchen. Also, it would be nice to disconnect the call using any word which has been already recorded in the phone sensors. We have seen cell phones with a touch screen. Now I'd like to see a phone which is only voice activated. It would really help people to drive safely and enjoy talking while...

On my cell phone, I'd like a button to press while I'm driving (could be part of the car-based charger) that would inform the caller that I'm driving and will call back when possible. Perhaps double-click this button to inform that than "I'm pulling over now/soon to call you" and single-click to inform "I will call later when I get a chance." The responses could be pre-recorded by the phone's owner.

I would like to see a cellphone incorporate a virtual keyboard. With the phone turned to landscape mode with an added kickstand, it could give the needed angle to produce such an effect. It would be the ultimate full qwerty phone.

Why not incorporate a mini PIR into a phone. It could be enabled, for example, if you use your phone as an alarm to wake up. If you accidently press 'off' instead of 'snooze', the PIR would activate after a couple of minutes. If the PIR detected no activity (because you are asleep), the alarm could be activated again.. Then, you would never sleep through your alarm again! It could also be used for a proximity alarm, work through bluetooth etc etc

I would like to see cell phones that have a panic button that could be activated if someone was being attacked. The button would be textured so that it could be identified by feel even if it couldn't be seen. It would have a depress-and-slide mechanism so it couldn't be set off accidentally (and there would be a hefty fine if it were set off "accidentally" more than once). On activation, the phone would sound a loud siren, and 911 would be dialed automatically, with the phone going to...
