Why not incorporate a mini PIR into a phone. It could be enabled, for example, if you use your phone as an alarm to wake up. If you accidently press 'off' instead of 'snooze', the PIR would activate after a couple of minutes. If the PIR detected no activity (because you are asleep), the alarm could be activated again.. Then, you would never sleep through your alarm again! It could also be used for a proximity alarm, work through bluetooth etc etc

Picture this; You work in a large organisation which has hundreds of offices scattered all over the place. Your work takes you off to various random locations around the building. The building has numerous swipe card access points for security. The building also has a large telephone system centrally connected to an exchange. Most of the day you are not at your desk and you miss most of your calls. Why not connect the security system to the phone system? The call...

I would like to see a charging cradle for my cell phone that would interface my cell phone with several cordless phones. I could get rid of my land based phone and still have the conveneince of answering and placing calls from cordless phones placed around my house. Even better would be a charging cradle that would accept more than one cell phone and give a distinctive ring so we would know which calls are on my line and which are on another family member's line.

Why don't they install line out jacks into every phone. It would make it easier to record phone calls. I have a small internet radio station and I have always wanted to have people phone in and make requests, but I am shocked at how long and complex the process for recording phone calls is with a normal phone. If we had a line out on the phone, one could just plug the phone into the line in on the computer and start recording.

It is now possible to use triangulation from base stations to determine the position of a mobile phone. A useful application of this would be to create 'no-phone' zones, where a signal could be sent to the mobile to switch it off when it is within a designated area. This could apply to theatres, hospitals, military bases: indeed any location where the user is instructed to switch their mobile off.

What if your mobile phone is not working and nothing to do with it but to turn it to trash? Would it be great if someone could invent a software/hardware device that would convert mobile phones as walky talky or fm radio or cordless phone (hardware plus software manipulation). walky talky or home wireless phone complete with different colored backlights with personalized logo and ringtones. JUST IMAGINE... WOW Its pretty cool right? And functional too. If theres something like it then lets...

Since your cell phone is all ready hooked up to your satellite, all you need to keep from getting bored, is to have it play the latest thing; XM Radio on your cell phone. You could still hear the ring, since the radio would turn off, and the ring of choice would start. It would work just like a standard XM Radio where you have all the options and functions of XM Radio and you can have commercial free music of any type of music you choose.

Cell phone theft is a serious problem. Thieves steal the cell phones so that they can make free calls on them. You could reduce cell phone theft by allowing user to specify that a password be used before the cell phone can be used to dial a number. Before you make a call with the cell phone you would have to enter a password which you could choose yourself. This would make the cell phone useless to a thief that did not know the password. This feature would be optional so that users who...
