A mirror's make up is very simple. It is a plane of glass then a layer of silver nitrate then a black backing to keep the silver nitrate reflective at all times. If we remove the black backing and keep the pane of glass and the silver nitrate, you can see right through it. If we have a light that we can turn off and on on the inside of something like a medicine cabinet (behind the mirror) or anything else and we keep the glass and silver nitrate but drop the black backing, we could shut...

Just like a "Breathe Right" glue strip you could create a bandage-like nose guard that is breathable but doesn't let in allergens, hair, or drool - only clean air. They just stick around the bottom of your nose with holes in cotton fiber glued up around the nostrils where the bandage glue part keeps them in place. Also nice to wear outdoors. We have full face masks and similar coverings made of cotton fiber, but these are too big and uncomfortable to wear at any time. These are...

We could use adding more uniqueness and character to our homes and add that to our address. We could set up a real National Paid Directory of house addresses and there names with each name different from any other. We now name stars and boats so, why not our homes?! We could get really creative and it could reflect our families personalities or the house or anything you can imagine from any real or made up word or short sentence ever spoken from time immortal in any language you choose. It...

If you have expensive dishes and cups but, have kids that might break them, then you need to plastic coat them but, not lose the pattern and be able to take off the coating for resale. A simple spray of a resin type plastic and your breakables will bounce instead of break. You could make anything unbreakable. Imagine all the things you don't want to break. Maybe, if you use a solvent to take it off, then you might be able to have your family traditional hand me downs and your expensive...

Some people do not have 9 to 5pm Monday through Thursday work and/or school schedules. These people may have schedules in which on every Monday and Wednesday they have to wake up at 7 am, while on Tuesdays and Thursdays they wake up a 9 am. Other people may go to work for four days during the night, and then four days during the day. These people could use an alarm clock that can be preprogrammed to go off the time and days it should go off. They would input their schedule into the alarm...

I was thinking of about 5 tall poles maybe the size of broom handles, with two circular trays. One tray placed in the centre near the top, and the other tray on the outside of the poles for annual plants. Your plants would stand out and you wouldn't have to place heaps of soil for this high effect. Just an outside decorative idea.

This product would help you study or learn a new language in your sleep. Before you go to bed, you would insert the learning chip of your choice in your subliminal output unit (possibly would look like a miniature CD player) on top of your bedside nightstand. How this would work is, just as you're going to sleep, push the on button, if you're still awake, all you would hear is a barely there white noise, but when you go to sleep, the soundwaves deliver information to your brain, and is...

Paper comes from wood and charcoal is derived from wood. My idea is to recycle used papers, such as newspapers and old documents, to become an alternative for charcoal. The procedure would be to soak several used papers in water for some time. Then compact them using hands or other means to reasonable sizes. Then let them dry. You can now use them as an alternative for charcoal. It may function differently than charcoal but it will work.

My mom is constantly giving me her coffee to reheat in the microwave. I propose inventing a thermal cup that could be digitally set to any temperature hot OR cold and that's what temperature the liquid inside it would stay! No more reheating coffee or chilling milk!

A periscope type of insert for your chimney that projects real time view of the sky, or chimney top vista, to a screen at the fire place opening. A sort of Rube Goldberg version of the window.
