I would appreciate if we can connect Alphanumeric keypad with speaker to the phone so that a mute person can hear and type a text to talk, this text will be then voice synthesized and then passed over to the speaker of the person on other side.

Most of us are embarrassed when our mobile phones ring during a class or a meeting. Or we can forget to switch to normal mode after the class or meeting and miss some important calls. Why not write a program that automatically switches your phone to silent mode and restores it, with just entering your weekly schedule.

Create a cell phone-based home security system. The system would include small, wireless video cameras hidden around a person's home, and a receiver (with a built-in telephone) that would continuously monitor the cameras. A person with a camera-type cell phone could call their receiver and monitor what the cameras were viewing. You could keep an eye on your property from anywhere, and call the police if you see someone breaking into your home. Of course, this idea requires the development...

As a cellphone is usually always with its owner at all times, not answering the ringing phone, for any reason, often causes the caller to think (s)he is being avoided. It would help greatly if I could press a button on my cellphone when it rings, and the caller could hear a message in my voice recorded on the phone - like "Sorry, I am driving right now - I'll call you back", or, "I am in a meeting. Please call later". The possibilities are endless, and the utility immense. It won't cost...

I've noticed led lights popping up in all forms nowadays. The latest I've seen is one that fits onto your usb port on a computer and makes a handy night light for your keyboard. Not my idea obviously but, how about one that fits in your phone socket utilising the free power source of the phone line. You could have it on a bulldog type clip and use it to illuminate your phone ot your notepad by phone. I'd buy one for a few quid.

We all know of answering machines in phones that read out a specific message for any call when we do not pick up the receiver for a few rings. I suggest an option to have customised answering based on who is calling. Example, if any of your relatives are calling when you are out on a tour, the message can be "I'm off to India. Will be back on 10th" while for others, you could just say "Pls leave ur number and I'll call back"

Touch Pad and Stylus writing on your cell phone would allow all your writing to be quick and the phone could either transfer writing to computer font or you could draw directions, or any other business diagrams, Etc. that you can't simply type with letters and numbers. A large host of application!

Design a cell phone with an in-built breathaliser which will bar the user from making potentially embarassing or abusive calls to unfortunate friends and family when under the influence of alchohol. The phone could be programmed to allow calls to, say, three numbers; taxi, police and pizza.

Have you seen those PC telephones, they're great, the only problem with them is that your PC must be turned on for you to answer calls. To solve this problem. Why not create a telephone hub, a small box that sits on your desk that is just a PC telephone, it stays on all the time instead of your computer and when theirs a call it rings to let you know. This is only really feasible with Cable, DSL etc permanent connections. Mind you PC phone calls cost $0, you can speak...
